Characteristics of Love

Miss X is suffering from cancer yet she states that "I am not afraid of dying. My only concern is my family members and that they should be given priority in treatment even if it means that I am the last to receive care." Is Miss X expressing love?

This person is exhibiting the typical way of handling her situation - self-sacrifice, thinking only of her loved ones. She doesn't think of herself, no self love. She doesn't realise that when her family see her suffering, they're also suffering alongside her. Coming for profiling may help her have a different perspective.

What is self love then? Is it respecting the physical body, taking the time and effort to understand the body, giving it good nutrients and enough rest and forgiving oneself for the mistakes that one has done in the past, self love?

I believe that Miss X might not have full understanding of the metaphysical, and is surrendering to the perceived inevitability of her condition. Many would. A subject such as 'cancer' can be daunting to resist and difficult to even think of reversing the condition with current mainstream medical knowledge. And perhaps by projecting thoughts of her family first than herself, she fulfills the noble criteria of 'sacrifice' just like what 'jujur14' mentioned.

I think she is preparing to leave the realm with that sort of peace-of-mind, that those she love will not suffer the same fate as herself.

I think she's walking that path of believing that no treatment can help her and putting others forward is the way of resting in peace.

I could be wrong altogether.

But I do believe that she has self-love, and love for people around her. And maybe she thinks that self-sacrifice is the ultimate self-love?

If a nomber of mutated cells cross a threshold, do you think that you would still retain a normal person thinking?

Cancer cells kill normal cells. there is no self love.

Alex's question on Miss X demonstrating cancer cells consciousness made me reflect on my past experience. My father suffered from early stage of cancer before he passed away from a lung infection. During the last year, my family members found him extremely challenging as he was anti-social, had difficulty communicating with us and tended to be extremely harsh in terms of behaviour and words. He carried destructive thoughts patterns and was reluctant to entertain anything positive. He consumed food that was bad for his body - high in carbohydrates and meat. When I researched the characteristics of cancer cells, I discovered that they tended to be anti-social, destructive, vicious and unable to communicate with other cells. The similarities between my dad's behaviour with that of cancer cells led me to believe that cancer patients do demonstrate cancer cells consciousness.
