My son has fear for insomnia. On Sunday and Monday, he had problem sleeping bcoz of fearing that he is unable to sleep and he ate some bad food given by someone on Sunday that lasted for 2 days.

Of course giving probiotics will help him recover but the mental fear of insomnia remain with him. How do you handle this problem?

Would helping him trace the root of his real fear of insomnia helpful? Perhaps when he knows where his fear of insomnia stem from, he'll be able to let go of this fear. Would lying down, with his face facing upwards at the ceiling, hands at the sides of the body, and focus on deep rhythmic breathing help?

I taught him a few things. One was teaching him to filter info that he is receiving from the media, friends and so on. then I asked him to observe when and where he loses energy during the day, I explained insomnia occurs when you have too little energy to sleep. He started to learn to correct his habits, letting go things that bother or upset him, observing when he has eaten too much food with sugar and meat,....etc. Also how to express love to his friends, grandmom, aunt and sister. He is still having problem with the sis.

I am trying to teach him how to handle his fears on his own. Appears that he is grasping the principles as he has not come to my room for the past 2 weeks complaining about insomnia.

the insomnia provided him with a learning opportunity, actually the circumstances forced him to learn and me to teach. When he chose not to follow the correct energy pattern, he knows that he made the choices that caused him not to sleep.

TQ Alex for great sharing. You're right, we are constantly learning - teachers come in many forms and the question always is: are we aware and willing to learn.
