Certain crystals will fade in direct sunlight and fragile ones may crack or chipped off, so always keep them under indirect sunlight. As for the duration, it can range from an hour or more but best during the rising sun i.e between 7+am onwards. Crystals are pricey and getting scarce so my rule of thumb is to play it safe to bath them in morning sun for an hour or so and if the sunlight felt burning on my skin, it is time to keep them. Normally place them on the shaded garden grass patch however careful with white ones like howlite as the grass moisture will dull the color. In short exercise care with porous crystals.
As we sun the crystals in our garden patch, also make it a point to sun ourselves as well cos sunlight has lots of minerals and light energy critical for our cell regeneration. It would be ideal to do CLT Movement Form at the same time facing the rising sun.
The other thing we can do is to hold the crystals under our tap running water with the intent of clearing away all negative energies. If you are living in an area with hard water, wipe dry the crystals otherwise they may get stained. Better water cleaning the crystals before bathing them under sunlight.
Not sure of mid-day / afternoon sun cos it is too expensive to experiment ! Cos once the good ones turns dull finish, it takes a long time to get the luster back.
Frequency ? Depend on your usage, hence it is advisable to rotate their usage and that includes the black and white (i.e black obsident / double terminator quartz) we use for CLT 5E.
